In Naryan-Mar (Nenets autonomous region) conference "Role of the woman in a modern society" has opened. For two days of work of the participant of a forum are going to discuss questions of employment and health of women, opportunities of participation of women's public organizations in various spheres of a life of district. On results of discussion Council of women will be created.

The deputy of the State Duma of the third convocation Andrey Woolf has brought to the lower chamber of parliament the law project "About regulation of paid services of the sexual character, directed on legalization of prostitution". The author of this law project suggests to qualify prostitution and other paid sexual services as "a version of the economic activities for the state registration".

In Vladivostok conference, on a theme "Problem of domestic violence in the modern society" within the framework of the project "Public against domestic violence" will pass on February, 25, 2004. From January, 19 till January, 29 this year "School NGO" has invited 21 representatives of NGOs to seminar - training.

5 years of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republic Karelia cooperate with NGOs concerning guestions of preventive maintenance of drugs, trafficking, violence in the family and concerning children.

In the prospective agenda of Committee of the State Duma on affairs of women, families and youth have included the question "About regulation of paid services of sexual character" and "About entering into separate acts of the Russian Federation of the additions directed on additional protection of pregnant women". A question about law project "About ratification of the Convention of the United Nations Organization against the transnational organized crime and supplementing it of the Report against illegal import of migrants overland, to sea and air and the Report on the prevention and suppression of trafficking of people, especially of women and children, and punishment for it" plans to discuss Committee on safety of the State Duma.

Members of parliament, representatives of administration of area and leaders of parties, movements and public organizations discussed the concept of development of the federal Law "About bases of the state support of family in the Russian Federation".

The project is directed on granting of an opportunity injured from domestic violence to carry out protection of the rights to a life and freedom against violence and cruel treatment.

Information campaign "Stop trafficking of women!" passed in Murmansk area under the initiative of the Congress of women of Kola peninsula, the Swedish crisis center "IRIS", the Moscow coalition "Angel" under support of Swedish international fund SIDA and assistance of Murmansk state pedagogical university.

Organizers of this forum are the Russian Academy of Business and the Russian union of industrialists and businessmen.
