Interregional conference "Domestic violence. Not for a minute more!"

Electronic version of the book at the portal "Woman and Society". Book presents results of qualitative and quantitative research on revelation of information possession among Russian citizens about domestic violence / violence at work / violence while studying. The present research was conducted from September 2001 until March 2002 in the frames of the informational campaign UNIFEM in defense of women's rights "Life without violence".

Center ANNA (Association - No to Violence) is announcing acceptance of applications for training course "Strategic partnership". In the frames of the training European experts will present to Russian colleagues their experience of working with women - victims of domestic violence.

Perm Center against violence and "white slavery" made the research trying to find out the extent of knowledge by medical workers about violence against women.

According to the data of the Home Office of Great Britain, 167 women in England and Wells suffer from domestic violence, and every twentieth adult woman suffered from violence at least once in her life.

July 15 in Ekaterinenburg started the three-days seminar on training of social services workers who will render emergent and preventive psychological help measures to victims of domestic violence.

Model legislation has been developed to surmount the imperfection of the present criminal and civil legislation and/or to improve existing laws about domestic violence. It is developed for legislative bodies and organizations supporting the adoption of gender specific and comprehensive legislation in the sphere of domestic violence.

Family and domestic violence remains serious problem in Russia: according to the statistics, 40% of grave crimes are committed at home.
