Association of crisis centers of Uzbekistan: first step

The mission of the organization is assistance in fight against drugs, reduction of aggression in the society, psychological support for old people, disabled people, psychological education of the population.

2001 volunteers of the Karelia Center of Gender Issues joined the project of UNO International Foundation of Women's Development (UNIFEM), which is conducting in 9 countries the regional informational campaign for the women's right to live without violence. Branch offices of the Altai regional crisis center for men will open soon in Slavgorod, Biysk and Rubtsovsk. Specialists of the population's social protection committees of those cities won the contest announced by the crisis center at the beginning of this year.

Altai crisis center for men is preparing the project "Men overcoming violence". The main target of the project is to work out by men intolerance to the violence toward women and family.

Seminars of the Khoresm regional women's center "Megrihie" are based on the knowledge, which can help people to overcome difficulties in their life. Center was registered by the Regional Department of Justice on May 31, 2002. Center's main mission is to improve status of the social unprotected sections of the population, first of all women and youth and to support them through different educational activities.

First in Ukraine crisis center for social rehabilitation and adaptation for women - victims of domestic violence- has been established in Lvov.

We have the honour to inform you that on 13-14 February 2003 Tallinn will host the Third Baltic Sea Women's Conference on WoMen and Democracy with the Ministry of Social Affairs of Estonia as the main organiser.
