Professional journalists and mass media can take part in the contest presenting publications about women leaders, women's success in all spheres of life, appeared in 2002.

St-Petersburg Center on Gender Issues is intending to conduct this action in October 2002. In this connection we would like to ask everybody interested to assist in searching of sexism examples (discriminating, humiliating women's images) in mass media, press, advertising, TV, literature. That could be citations of politicians in press, on TV, billboards, photos, video, articles etc. We would be happy to receive both material subjects and information, references to citations specifying author, time and place of statements. This year we start the long-term action of women's solidarity under the conventional name "I can". As a slogan for the action, we could use the words "From the position of social passivity to the support of own strengths and self-development!" Today we are focusing at the problem of poverty and we appeal everybody to contribute to the common list of good activities. People say: "What can I do in this situation?" There is only one answer "Everybody can do something". Note is a demand to act appropriately to overcome poverty of the most citizens of Russia.
