"WOMAN IN THE VISUAL CULTURE: PROBLEMS OF CREATIVITY AND AUTHORSHIP"
[within the framework of the program "Woman artist in Russian art"]

17-19 December 2001

    Themes for discussion:

    1. Visual women's art: amount and potential.
    2. Authorship as a form of personal self-representation.
    3. The history of the problem of the visual woman's culture: the comparative aspects (Russia-West)
    4. National peculiarities, international contacts and general directions in the process of women's creation.
    5. The legal aspects of presentation of woman in art and in mass media.

    The show of the works of the Russian women artists (16-20 centuries) will be discussed 2001 there will be at the concluding Round Table "Unknown art history", 19 December 2001.

    The materials of the symposium will be published.

    Please, send abstracts of papers (1-3 pages in Russian or in English). The deadline in July 1st, 2001.
